Everyone on this thread has offered really great tips! I had a PD back in the day suggest the "picture of a friend" idea as well...ha! It's not bad. You may not need to hire a professional. You may just need some good honest critiques (which can hurt!) I always begged for the pros to give me suggestions so I could improve. In my opinion, the most worthless aircheck sessions end with "You sound great, keep it up!" I'd be glad to listen to your stuff. Feel free to email a sample.
