I know a great chunk of TV stations are going to shut them off on 2/17 anyway. The Bill doesn't require them to stay on, just that they have the option. After the Senate passed the bill, a flood of applications hit the FCC to shut down on 2/17.

Most stations didn't budget to operate longer than that.
