The power upgrade of WTTN and it's C.O.L. move from Watertown to Columbus is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. Most of the equipment is in place for the 5000 watt AM directional upgrade on 1580 and the old 100.5 FM tower has been removed.
Rumor has it that Good Karma Broadcasting is going to drop the Goose / oldies format for a 100% simulcast of 100.5 on the AM band. The stations will ID them selves as 1580 WTLX Columbus / Madison & 100.5 WTLX-FM Monona / Madison.
This seems to make sense since when you look at the coverage maps on radio locator, the increase in coverage on 1580 more than makes up for the overall loss in coverage when 100.5 moved to it's 180 foot water tower site.
There is also a large outdoor sign on highway 16 west of Columbus that simply reads "WTLX - NEW SIGNAL" although that could be in reference to 100.5's new weaker signal.
