Haven't heard it in awhile. Is it transmitting in stereo or mono?

The transmitter as at the water tower at the Mendota Mental Health Institute. A water tower isn't one of the more common transmitter sites although they can be very useful nowdays with translators and cellular services.

If you're hearing audio issues, it's likely an issue with the processing.

In many cases, the satellite feeds are mono and much quieter. They were designed for AM broadcast, not FM. When they run local liners and advertising, they're mixed louder and in stereo, designed for FM broadcast.

A lot of this is more evident on internet streams where processing is not used. You could be listening to a satellite feed and have the volume all the way up. When a local liner comes on, it can be really loud compared to the satellite feed and can have you jump out of your chair in shock.

Because of this, the processor can have issues dealing with the sudden changes in audio levels. Good processing and STL can deal with these issues. I'm guessing Karmazin doesn't really put much into that. It's more about the programming. Not to mention most of his stations except for WXRO and WWHG are AM signals.
