---> Radio host Sheriff David Clarke starts show with controversial gun book author John Lott

Posted: March 06, 2013 By Tom Kertscher of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr., who seems to be all over the media of late, is filling in Wednesday for conservative talk show host Mark Belling on WISN-AM (1130) in Milwaukee.

Clarke started his show with a phone interview with economist John Lott, who has written extensively about guns.

Lott was featured in a December 2012 article by FactCheck.org headlined "Gun rhetoric vs. gun facts." FactCheck.org called Lott's gun research "controversial and hotly contested."

The article stated:

"In the most recent 2010 edition of Lott’s book, “More Guns Less Crime,” Lott concludes that “[a]llowing citizens to carry concealed handguns reduces violent crimes, and the reductions coincide very closely with the number of concealed-handgun permits issued.”

Belling's show airs from 3 to 6 p.m. Clarke said his second guest is Deneen Borelli, a Fox News contributor.
