we could go on-and-on about how the papers are failing to deliver .. i doubt they will open their eyes any time soon .. i say let's get our radio/tv gossip directly from each other .. let's post all the inside memos, emails and transcripts from meetings right here

: Part of an ideal columnist's duties would include delivering scoops and inside information, not just reporting already-made changes and reprinting press releases.

: Madison is a media town. There is a need for a media columnist. It sucks that we don't have atleast one.

: : Do they think Madison is just too small for this kind of beat? Or that the people don't care?

: : I think it's obvious people care because whenever there's a media-related story posted on the Cap Times or WSJ web sites, there are dozens of comments almost instantly. Plus we have the journalism and broadcasting students at UW-Madison and Madison Media Inst..

:
: :
: : : Like Tim Cuprisin in Milwaukee or Robert Feder in Chicago? Instead we have to flip through the papers hoping to find the occasional juicy tidbit or spend time checking this site and Googling
