It does not cost $10,000 for new calls. It's just a simple application and small fee with the FCC.

Remember, content is king in radio. So, paying a local part timer to voice track may adhere to the "shut up and play music" mindset, offering a unique show at a time no other station with a similar format offers something that's DIFFERENT than playing the new Pink song for the 4,000th time.
