John I was referring to the new domain supposedly registered which doesn't mention 1670AM whatsoever. In fact, the speculation is that La Movida moves to 1670 and WTDY moves off the AM band to the FM stick. In that case it's a horrible 'upgrade'.

Thanks for your input, though.

: It's only a downgrade if WTDY moved to 106.7 and dropped the 1670 frequency, which is not what's happening. Reading is fundamental! ADDING the 106.7 frequency will improve coverage in the western area of the DMA, especially at night.

: That said, I'm not sure that adding a 106.7 simulcast will do much for WTDY's ratings. I don't think WTDY's troubles are signal related -- they're programming related -- Sly's show is terrible. And Robert Wuhl? Seriously?

: I actually want WTDY to succeed -- we need some competition to WIBA in the news/talk space. I like that WTDY has tilted more toward the news in the news/talk spectrum, and appreciate the CBS top-of-the-hour news much better than Fox (or even CNN on the Mic). I like that they have a stable of local reporters and hosts like Pam Jahnke. And I like the sports play-by-play they have on the weekend (NFL and NCAA). But the station doesn't really have a polished or consistent sound to it.

: John
