: Al Gore to speak Oct. 9 at environmental journalists' conference in Madison : The Capital Times — 8/17/2009 1:37 pm : Former vice president Al Gore will be the headline speaker at the Society of Environmental Journalists 19th annual conference in Madison Oct. 7-11. : The conference will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the Concourse Hotel. : Gore, who has championed the environmental cause for years, will speak on Friday, Oct. 9. He will talk about the upcoming gathering of world leaders and scientists in Copenhagen later this fall. : Also scheduled to appear at the journalists conference are National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration head Jane Lubchenco, environmental reporter Andy Revkin of the New York Times and Maude Barlow, a senior adviser to the president to the United Nations general assembly.
