WIXX plays TONS of stiffs, WKSZ only plays the hits. There IS a thing called phamtom cume. People who think they are listening to one station, when they are really listening to another. WIXX gets a default amount of this because they HAVE been around since the mid 70s.

Here are the stations in Green Bay that could have phantom cume that goes to WIXX:
-WZNN (The Zone, alternative)
-WQLH (Star 98, Hot AC)
-WKSZ (Kiss FM, CHR)

These stations all have songs that overlap, and share many different listeners that could indeed mistaken listening to any of those 3 for listening to WIXX. It happens. I can say the same thing with Appleton-Oshkosh with an even bigger list:

-WZNN (yes Zone comes in Appleton well)
-WFON (K107.1, Hot AC, though not as much as Star 98 with the phantom cume I bet)
-WQLH (Comes in decent up until Oshkosh)
-WKSZ (same with them)
-WBJZ (B104.7, CHR)

All candidates for this thing called "phantom cume". Granted, I don't think it s too great of a difference, but I bet that WIXX is 1-2 shares less in reality. I still think they would be the top "current music sans Country" format, but things would be a lot closer. Too bad PPM won't get here for some years, if it ever comes here now that Cumulus and Woodward aren't even with Arb anymore...

If PPM ever does come to Green Bay and the Fox Cities, look for WKSZ to start beating WIXX, as you saw in Chicago with heritage B96 dominating for years with phantom cume under the diary system, and Kiss 103.5 winning in PPM.
