I've been hearing a lot of Barneveld baseball and softball games on WEKZ (93.7FM) lately and I was wondering what determines which schools they cover? When I look at a map, Barneveld isn't real close to Monroe. Schools like Milton and Edgerton seem to be closer to Monroe, and even Benton, Cuba City, and Hazel Green are closer to Monroe but those are schools they don't cover. In fact, WEKZ could cover Middleton, Madison Edgewood, and Sun Prairie which are similar distances between Barneveld and Monroe.
A Barneveld baseball game probably doesn't draw a lot of interest in Monroe and even less in Freeport, Illinois, but if they're generating a good income from it, it's certainly worth the two hours of broadcast time they devote to it. Keep up the good work!
