Larry Bentson, a legend in broadcasting, has died. He once owned WTSO, WZEE, WMLI and WKOW-TV in Madison. A good man who made his mark on Wisconsin radio and TV. He did the industry a massive favor when he cleaned house in the late eighties and rid his Madison radio operation of some pretty shading characters and others too lazy to work that had retired on the job (or so they thought). He caught some with hands in the company cookie jar. They were running a mobile dj scam on the side and using their airshifts to plug it for free. Their plugola/payola got them fired. Larry, you were THE MAN. Thanks for the memories.
