As I understand, the auction is open to *all* full power and Class A stations, not just UHF stations, with the goal is to repack the TV frequency band.

- Low VHF stations go off the air.
- High VHF stations go off the air or move to low UHF.
- UHF stations go off the air or move to either high or low VHF.

Technically, based on this, *any* of the stations in the area could participate by just shifting broadcast frequencies. That said, all most people are concerned about (and the stations being bantered about in this thread) are the stations going off the air completely.

(If we include stations shifting frequency in lieu of going off air, the list in the area could be much longer, I think)
