As of today, I've noticed that WTKM 104.9 Hartford has tweaked their format:

1> They have dropped the polka format from 5-10 PM and are "classic" country around the clock.

2> I use the term "classic" country loosely. They have dropped just about everything pre-1990 from their playlist. The station is still 100% gold based and is not playing currents or recurrents, but the music library is now pretty much from 1990 to 2010 or so. In the few hours I've been listening, the only songs from before 1990 I've heard have been "Forever And Ever Amen" from 1987 and "On The Road Again" from 1980. I think "Felt Good On My Lips" from Tim McGraw is the most current song I've heard (from 2010). Their description on their website of their format now says "WTKM features REAL country music from Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, the Zac Brown Band and many more - The Greatest Country Hits from the 90s through today!"

3> The imaging has very much changed and has a little bit more slick and professionally produced feel. They very much promote the fact that they are a local Wisconsin based community station still.

I'm curious to see if the weekend format has changed as well and if the polka has been dropped from the weekend and it is "classic" country now 24/7.
